Very active in SMU, Dunne is also on the SMU Meadows School of Journalism Advisory Board (his contributions include writing the SMU Song, “SMU”).
Dunne graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa from the University of Kentucky, with Highest Honors (in the top 1%), and double-major Honors Program Degrees in Journalism and Business, while double-minoring in Music Composition and Communications.
Married to award-winning interior designer Catherine Bailly Dunne, they have two daughters – living in Pacific Palisades, California.
